East Hampton Sandwich Co. Southlake
Southlake, TX | Restaurants
Channeling the upscale yet relaxed atmosphere of a home in the Hamptons, New York’s grouping of seaside communities, Studio 11 Design recently completed the FF&E for the East Hampton Sandwich Co.’s Southlake outpost, giving a beach house vibe to the new build. The fast casual eatery features red bar stools lining a solid oyster-white counter, giving those seeking a quick bite the option to stay and relax or eat and run. High top tables are clustered in the center of the main dining area, surrounded by communal dining tables ideal for family gatherings and business lunches. Taupe banquettes line the perimeter, nestled beneath framed covers of The New Yorker, aged maps, and nautical decor adhered to the gentle blue shiplap walls. To soften the acoustics precipitated by the concrete floors and lofty exposed ceiling, Studio 11 created a dropped ceiling, making the space intimate and conducive to conversations. Floor-to-ceiling windows on three walls flood the space with natural light, which is balanced by light emanating from pendants suspended in delicate wooden encasements.
Mixed materials and unique artwork like tongue-in-cheek prints of lobsters diving into boiling pots of water and antique rowing oar installations add a residential and cozy feel to the space. The wooden oars were found locally by Studio 11 and the client at an antique market, an artistic direction that will continue to carry through to other locations’ where they will transport guests with visions of Hudson Bay. Embracing charming East Coast details, Studio 11 has ensured that diners in Texas can always get a taste of the beach.
