The renovation of the Sheraton Austin at The Capitol came at a very opportunistic time in that it coincided with the revitalization of the historical Waller Creek. Just as Waller Creek aimed to be the link between downtown and East Austin and serve as an artery to a city that was once divided, the renewal of the Sheraton Austin at The Capitol serves as an opportunity to bring new energy and to reconnect a once segregated hotel.
The interiors are sophisticated yet comfortable and designed to be timeless and transitional with clean, modified interpretations of classic traditional and geometric forms. Local materials and vendors were used wherever possible and local merchants and artists have their trades incorporated for a heightened guest experience.
A city staple since 1986, The Sheraton Austin now embodies the quirkiness of the city it calls home—blending regional inspiration with design influences that span decades.Wayfair, Project Spotlight: A Sheraton Renovation, 2017
