Playing on the idea of a backyard
The design of The Yard at Waller Creek focuses on merging the outdoor and creek bank with the indoors, creating a fun juxtaposition of indoor and outdoor space. The restaurant features craft cocktails and locally made beer, elevated backyard fare and a vintage feel.
The branding by Brand Society at the restaurant is homey in feel, drawing the viewer back to a simpler time. Craft paper packaging and menus on clip boards convey the relaxed attitude of the space.
We wanted to make it really inviting, really comfortable, and really make it a place where locals would want to stop, as opposed to it just being for tourists. We wanted to capitalize on the locality of Austin.
